%X Se realiz車 un estudio de tipo descriptivo de corte transversal a un grupo de adolescentes de la Escuela Secundaria B芍sica Fructuoso Rodr赤guez de la localidad de Punta Brava, Municipio La Lisa, en un per赤odo de tiempo que abarc車 desde enero a marzo del a o 2008. Se utiliz車 un muestreo simple aleatorio con 95 % de confiabilidad. Los datos fueron procesados por el c芍lculo porcentual y se expresaron en tablas. Se consideraron algunas variables sociodemogr芍ficas para caracterizar e identificar conocimientos y factores de riesgo sobre esta tem芍tica. Hubo un predominio del sexo femenino, el grupo de edades de 13 a 14 a os y los que cursan el 9no grado. En cuanto a los conocimientos sobre infecciones de transmisi車n sexual y su prevenci車n, las f谷minas evidenciaron mejor preparaci車n. Observamos mayor dificultad en la identificaci車n de las manifestaciones cl赤nicas de las infecciones de transmisi車n sexual. Se apreci車 que la minor赤a de los estudiantes ha iniciado ya sus relaciones sexuales. Se demostr車 la existencia de pr芍cticas sexuales de riesgo como: edad de inicio precoz entre 12.5 y 13.7, Motivaci車n errada para iniciar la vida sexual (Curiosidad y b迆squeda de apoyo, afecto), gran n迆mero de ellos ha tenido m芍s de 3 parejas sexuales, aunque predomin車 el uso del cond車n como medio de protecci車n, no es usado con la frecuencia adecuada. No se evidenci車 en la investigaci車n estudiantes que hayan contra赤do infecciones de transmisi車n sexual. Se dise 車 una estrategia para incrementar el conocimiento de las ITS en estos adolescentes. A survey was done with adolescents of the Fructuoso Rodriguez High School, located in Punta Brava town, La Lisa Municipality. During the months of January and March of 2008, a simple model 95% reliable by change was obtained and the data were processed by means of the porcentage calculus and put on boards. General points of view were considered according to the social way of life and quantity of people to identify the risk factors about this subject there was a predominance of the feminine sex, in the students from 13 to 14 years old of the ninth grade. The females had the best preparation about how to prevent the sexual- transfer- infection. We observed difficulties identifying the clinic declare of the ITS. We appreciated that the minority of the students have already started the sexual relationship.
