%X In the present contribution the various functions and meanings of the Catalan suffix -ada are examined, leading to results that are also relevant for other Romance languages that have got this suffix. This gives rise to the problem of the so-called ¡®possible¡¯ verbs like (*)gauchar, *forar, etc. They can be very important when explaining the semantic features of the suffix -ada. However, some linguists either dispute or simply negate their existence, only because they are not represented in any dictionary of the concerned language. In contrast to this opinion the present contribution supplies evidence, that makes the existence of these implicit verbs credible, even veracious.
