%X Se realiz車 un estudio observacional descriptivo de corte transversal con el objetivo de determinar el comportamiento de las cifras de tensi車n arterial y su distribuci車n en personas mayores de 60 a os, barrio Monse or Brice o, municipio C芍rdenas, Estado T芍chira, Venezuela. En el per赤odo de enero del 2006 a febrero del 2007. El universo de estudio lo constituyeron 152 personas. Las variables descriptivas se expresaron en porcentajes. Se hizo el c芍lculo de la media para las variables de presi車n arterial normal y prehipertensi車n por grupo de edades y sexo. Se observ車 29.61 % con cifras de prehipertensi車n e hipertensi車n arterial (58.55 %), predomin車 el estadio I (36.84 %). Predomin車 el sexo femenino, el grupo de edad de 70 a 74 a os, el color de la piel blanco y la hipertensi車n arterial sistodiast車lica. A Observational study of cross section was made descriptive, with the objective of establishing Blood Pressure performance and distribution in groups of persons over 60 years old who live in Monsignor Brice o, Cardenas Municipality, T芍chira State, Venezuela. The period from January 2006 to February 2007. The object of study was designed to investigate 152 persons. The descriptive variables were given in percents. Variable medium of normal blood pressure and pre High Blood Pressure were established by age and sex. The results of this study show a 29.61% with Pre-High Blood Pressure and 58.85% with High Blood Pressure phase 1, dominated with an 36.4%. The female sex dominated with the group consisting of person between seventy and seventy four years of age, person with white skin and Arterial High Blood Pressure.
