Iconographic research also confirms that these artists depicted connoisseurs in this painting. Several elements (the eagle, the judgement of Salomon, etc) refer to connoisseurship: the depicted connoisseurs evaluate, from an intellectual point of view, the authorship of paintings based on stylistic characteristics.
