%X This presented and commented upon selection of works by various Catalan-speaking authors allows the reader to learn more about the world of the Catalan youth from two different, yet complementary, perspectives. On the one hand, a general view of the youth of today and related topics are presented, as well as sociolinguistic information about the entire population of the Catalan-speaking territories. On the other hand, specific studies ¨C mainly doctoral theses ¨C analyzing specific questions about linguistic aspects, opinions, linguistic attitudes and uses, in different areas related to particular youth groups in specific areas of the Catalan-speaking territory, are commented upon. Finally, an overview is given of prospects that these specialists see for the future of the Catalan language.
