%X Desde 2005, las crisis c¨ªclicas que vive L¨ªbano amenazan la estabilidad de la regi¨®n. La diplomacia espa ola ha jugado un importante papel desde entonces. Los Ministros de Exteriores italiano, Massimo D¡äAlema; franc¨¦s, Bernard Kouchner; y espa ol, Miguel ¨¢ngel Moratinos, encabezaron las mediaciones entre el Gobierno liban¨¦s y la oposici¨®n. Aunque los esfuerzos realizados no resolvieron la crisis, la diplomacia espa ola se presenta como un interlocutor ¨²nico en la regi¨®n gracias a sus buenas relaciones con Siria. Acabar con las tensiones en los pa¨ªses ¨¢rabes es imprescindible para poder hacer frente a un proceso de paz en Oriente Medio. El papel de Espa a es fundamental para aunar posiciones entre los diferentes actores pol¨ªticos, especialmente el r¨¦gimen sirio. Since 2005, cyclical political crises in Lebanon threaten the stability of the region. The Spanish diplomacy has played an important role in the country since then. Italian Foreign Minister, Massimo D¡¯Alema, France¡¯s Bernard Kouchner and the Spanish Miguel Angel Moratinos led mediation efforts between the Lebanese government and opposition. Although the efforts didn¡¯t solve the crisis, the Spanish diplomacy appears to be a unique negotiator in the region thanks its good relationship with Syria. It is essential to end tensions in Arab countries to face a peace process in the Middle East. The role of Spain is fundamental to unite positions among the political players, especially the Syrian regime.
