%X In the current days, the increasing perspectives of integration between the South-american countries ¨C considering that the Mercosur has been gradually being inflated with the association of Andean Pact joint countries ¨C bring up the necessity of knowing the political-administrative division model of the territories of this band of the continent. The greater economic interaction creates the necessity of making more intense comparisons of statistical data, relating to the economical, political and social (mainly demographic) order. For preventing this serious error to happen, the knowledge about the administrative division criteria conferred by each state-nation to its territory is an extremely necessary task to be reached. A further although minor objective of this article is to discuss the configuration of the smallest.
