%X Este art¨ªculo centra su inter¨¦s en los estudios de g¨¦nero como teor¨ªa anal¨ªtica, que permite desvelar las representaciones, ideas, comportamientos, que se han ido construyendo socialmente como "naturales" y atribuidos a las diferencias biol¨®gicas de los sexos. Se opone en el texto la figura patriarcal a las de aquellos que rompen con los patrones convencionales, y que son definidos como subalternos. El ¨ªcono de la pantera rosa funge como s¨ªmbolo de apertura a la vez que constituye la ant¨ªtesis de una supuesta supremac¨ªa heterosexual. El texto aborda la necesidad de tolerar la diversidad humana al tiempo que cuestiona el orden tradicional. La noci¨®n de subalternidad engloba el origen perif¨¦rico de los latinoamericanos en relaci¨®n a los sujetos nacionales de pa¨ªses desarrollados. Asimismo, esta reflexi¨®n alude a la democratizaci¨®n que da cabida al pluralismo humano, no obstante la diversidad crea tensiones entre personajes que el texto literario describe como estereotipadas. El sujeto anticonvencional que personifica el narrador de Efraim Medina es el opuesto al pater familia, una especie de enemigo de la iglesia cat¨®lica, que no tiene ning¨²n tipo de preocupaci¨®n moral. This article focuses on Gender Studies as an analytical theory that allows revealing the representations, ideas, behaviors that have been built socially as "natural" and usually thought of being related to biological diff erences between sexes. In the text, the patriarchal figure and those who break conventional patterns, known as subordinates, are opposed. The Pink Panther icon acts as an openness symbol that at the same time constitutes the antithesis of a supposed heterosexual supremacy. The text deals with the need of tolerating human diversity tolerance and at the same time calls into question the traditional order. The idea of "subordinatedness" embraces the peripheral status of Latin American people relative to those from developed countries. Also this reflection deals with how democratization fosters human pluralism, although diversity leads to tensions between characters that the novel describes as stereotyped. The unconventional character who embodies the narrator of Efraim Medina is the opposite of the pater familia, a sort of enemy of the Catholic Church who does not have any kind moral preoccupation.
