%X Este art赤culo revisa los principales aspectos de la hepatitis C cr車nica (epidemiol車gicos y gen車micos, relacionados con un mejor conocimiento molecular del ciclo vital del virus de la hepatitis C, VHC) y de modo notable la terapia est芍ndar con interfer車n 汐 pegilado y ribavirina. El 谷nfasis se ha puesto especialmente en los aspectos biol車gicos de la respuesta inmunol車gica del h赤gado frente al VHC y en la valoraci車n del grado de fibrosis hep芍tica mediante la elastograf赤a de transici車n. This article reviews the main aspects of chronic hepatitis C (epidemiological, genomic related to enhanced molecular understanding of the life cycle of the hepatitis C virus, HCV) especially standard therapy with pegilated interferon 汐 and ribavirin. Emphasis is also placed on the immune response of the liver to HCV and the assessment of liver fibrosis via transient elastography.
