The random cDNA clones from the library were subjected to single pass sequencing. The generated ESTs were used for structural and functional analysis using BLASTx and BLASTn with current available NCBI database. During the investigation it was found one defective viral coat protein of Citrus tristeza virus and three plant related retrotransposons. The sequences were further analyzed with the help of Bioinformatic software to know its function under stress condition. The truncated coat protein helps in cross protection of the plant against viral infection by inhibiting the disassembly of virus and retrotransposons are mainly involved in increasing genome content and mutation of the genes. The very high expression of retrotransposons and defective viral coat protein genes in Pigeon pea WRP-1 cultivar under NaCl stress condition indicates their possible role against NaCl stress tolerance in Pigeon pea plant. %K Pigeon pea %K salinity %K EST %K retrotransposons %K Viral coat protein. %U http://worldjournalofscience.com/index.php/wjst/article/view/6967
