%0 Journal Article %T Characterization Of Undoped And ZnCl2-Doped L-Valine Hydrogen Chloride (LVHC) Crystals Grown By Slow Evaporation Technique %A P Selvarajan %J World Journal of Science and Technology %D 2011 %I %X Undoped and ZnCl2-doped L-valine Hydrogen Chloride salt has been synthesized and single crystals of synthesized salts were grown at room temperature by slow evaporation technique. Grown crystals were characterized with the aid of single crystal X-ray diffractometry (XRD) to confirm the crystal structure. UV visible transmittance studies show that the grown crystals have wide optical transparency in the entire visible region. The NLO activity of the grown crystal has been checked by second harmonic generation (SHG) test. Microhardness studies of the grown crystals have been carried out to check the mechanical strength.
