Diverses explications sont invoqu¨¦es : recherche de sensations fortes, appel de l¡¯aventure, ¡°d¨¦routinisation¡± du quotidien, affirmation identitaire, etc. ¨¤ travers le cas de la voile, nous entendons analyser les raisons qui poussent les pratiquants ¨¤ accepter la confrontation ¨¤ des dangers identifi¨¦s. La litt¨¦rature sociologique laisse appara tre six mani¨¨res de construire th¨¦oriquement l¡¯engagement dans une pratique sportive dangereuse. Nous proposons d¡¯articuler ces ¨¦clairages th¨¦oriques pour d¨¦velopper une vision ¨¦largie des raisons qui m¨¨nent ¨¤ s¡¯engager dans l¡¯activit¨¦ hauturi¨¨re. 22 pratiquants ont ¨¦t¨¦ interview¨¦s. Ces entretiens laissent appara tre des ¨¦l¨¦ments pluriels de justification de cette exposition occasionnelle au danger. Des relations de compl¨¦mentarit¨¦ entre paradigmes apparaissent finalement, prouvant non seulement que la pr¨¦tention au monopole explicatif conduit ¨¤ des impasses, mais aussi que l¡¯ouverture ¨¤ plusieurs cadres d¡¯intelligibilit¨¦ enrichit la port¨¦e heuristique de chacun d¡¯entre eux. The radicalization and increasing frequency of exposure to danger are regularly underlined by those observing our sporting contemporaneity. Various explanations are given: thrill seeking, the call of adventure, ¡°deroutinization¡± of daily life, identity assertion, etc. Using the case of sailing, we intend to analyze the reasons driving sailors to accept confrontation with identified dangers. The sociological literature illustrates six ways of theoretically constructing involvement in a dangerous sporting practice. We propose interconnecting these theoretical constructions to develop a wider vision of the reasons driving sailors to the high seas. 22 practitioners were interviewed. These talks revealed multifaceted elements of justification for this occasional exposure to danger. Complementary relationships between paradigms finally appear, proving not only that claims to explanatory monopoly lead to impasses, but also that opening to several structures of intelligibility enriches the heuristic range of all of them. %U http://rsa.revues.org/301
