%X The content of the present article constitutes the missing link in the history published in Informes de la Construcci車n on the design and construction of the Institute＊s new headquarters, the most innovative habitat for research ever built by the modern movement. Its publication completes and concludes that record, while highlighting the message that Eduardo Torroja intended to transmit when he grouped the articles that narrated its history under a common title: El Instituto es as赤 (Making the Institute what it is), very likely because for many years (1949-1953) he contended that it could not have been ※made§ otherwise. El contenido de este art赤culo representa el eslab車n que falta en la historia publicada por la revista Informes de la Construcci車n sobre el proyecto y construcci車n de la nueva sede del Instituto, que fue el h芍bitat de investigaci車n m芍s innovador jam芍s construido por la Modernidad. Su difusi車n completa y cierra esta historia, a la vez que potencia el mensaje que Eduardo Torroja quiso transmitir agrupando los art赤culos que relatan esta historia, bajo un mismo t赤tulo com迆n; ※El Instituto es As赤§, seguramente porque durante mucho tiempo (1949-1953), defendi車 que no pod赤a ser de otra manera.
