%X The objective of this study was to standardize The Scale of Motivation in Sports in Mexican athletes. It was necessary to get the original version which, as it was in French, had to be traslated into Spanish. Semantics and composition were also revised. In the first study the items discrimination was analysed by means of cross validation, the inner consistency made through Alpha of Cronbach (.8936). In the normative study all items discriminated and fiability was .8468. The analysis of the factors, which were distributed in a different way from that of the original scale. With the obtention of percentile norms the future assessment and diagnosis of Mexican athletes will be valid and can be trusted. A standardization with different population is suggested. El objetivo del presente estudio fue estandarizar la Escala de Motivaci車n en el Deporte con deportistas mexicanos, para lo cual fue necesario la versi車n original, que por estar en franc谷s, hubo que traducir al espa ol. A su vez, se revis車 la semantica y la redacci車n de la misma. En los estudio preliminares se analiz車 la discriminaci車n de los reactivos a traves de la validaci車n cruzada, as赤 como la consistencia interna por medio del Alpha de Cronbach (.8936). En el estudio normativo todos los reactivos discriminaron y, la confiabilidad fue de .8468. El an芍lisis factorial arroj車 7 factores, los cuales se distribuyeron de diferente modo que en la escala original. Con la obtenci車n de normas percentilares la futura valoraci車n y diagn車stico de los atletas mexicanos sera valida y confiable. Se sugiere realizar la estandarizaci車n en diferentes poblaciones.
