The author sustains that Kubric's vision of human nature is pessimist, what is reflected in this case, by the first scene of the movie where the fight between two packs of chimpanzees for the control of a water pond is observed, a commodity that is appreciated as scarce, and the how a pack leader gives death to another by the continued bashing of its skull with a bone. That first act of physical brutality reflects that human nature is violent in a permanent, changeless and independent way even though the technological advance that humanity can reach and it's in this nature where the first international way of action is founded, according to our interpretation, violence. %K Realism %K Internacional Relations %K Kubrik %U http://redalyc.uaemex.mx/src/inicio/ArtPdfRed.jsp?iCve=96012388017
