%X Les ouvrages de Jaime Bayly (Lima, 1965) posent le probl¨¨me de ce que sont r¨¦ellement la litt¨¦rature (associ¨¦e ¨¤ la culture savante) et la paralitt¨¦rature (culture populaire). Apr¨¨s avoir expos¨¦ ce que regroupe le genre paralitt¨¦raire, une d¨¦finition de la paralitt¨¦rature est donn¨¦e en la confrontant au concept de   litt¨¦rarit¨¦  . Les principales caract¨¦ristiques de l¡¯ uvre bayl¨¦enne sont alors propos¨¦es : traitement des m¨ºmes th¨¦matiques, personnages st¨¦r¨¦otyp¨¦s, r¨¦currence des m¨ºmes anecdotes... L¡¯¨¦tude de la structure m¨ºme des ¨¦crits, la langue utilis¨¦e, le type de narration constituent autant d¡¯¨¦l¨¦ments qui nous invitent ¨¤ ranger la production de Jaime Bayly dans le domaine paralitt¨¦raire. Mais certaines nuances doivent ¨ºtre apport¨¦es : l¡¯h¨¦ritage et le contexte litt¨¦raires, la port¨¦e politique, historique et sociale, ainsi qu¡¯une certaine coh¨¦rence des th¨¦matiques trait¨¦es et le lien ¨¦troit entre les ouvrages et leur auteur r¨¦futent la vision plut t simpliste volontiers accord¨¦e ¨¤ la paralitt¨¦rature. En outre, l¡¯absence de r¨¦elle unit¨¦, l¡¯¨¦volution constat¨¦e tout au long des quinze ¨¦crits renforcent le caract¨¨re relativement inclassable de la production bayl¨¦enne, situ¨¦e entre ces deux domaines aux fronti¨¨res poreuses et souvent subjectives que sont litt¨¦rature et paralitt¨¦rature. The works of Jaime Bayly (born in Lima in 1965) highlight the issue of the genuine nature of literature (associated to academic knowledge), and paraliterature (related to popular culture). After describing the main manifestations of paraliterature as a genre, a definition of paraliterature is given by comparing and contrasting it with the concept of   literarity  . The core aspects of Bayly¡¯s work are listed : his resorting to repeated themes, stereotypical characters, the recurring aspect of some of the scenes¡­ The study of the very structure of his writings, the language used, the type of narration all lead to the conclusion that Jaime Baily¡¯ s production may belong to to the paraliterary domain. But some aspects come to mitigate this assertion : the literary heritage and context, the political, historical and social reach, as well as an undeniable consistency of the the thematics dealt with and the tight links between the works and their author all come to deny a rather simplistic vision usually attached to paraliterature. Furthermore, the absence of real unity, the evolution that can be noted all along the fifteen works condone the rather inclassifiable aspect of Baily¡¯s works, situated somewhere between these two domains whose borders are porous and often subjective
