%X Resumen: Este art赤culo es resultado de la investigaci車n denominada ※Construyendo procesos educativos culturalmente pertinentes, desde el nivel inicial de las escuelas ind赤genas de Chirrip車§ desarrollada en el Instituto de Investigaci車n en Educaci車n (INIE) de la Universidad de Costa Rica. El prop車sito de este trabajo, es aportar insumos a la discusi車n iniciada en a os recientes en el 芍mbito universitario, regional y nacional, en torno a la necesidad de construir oportunidades para un desarrollo educativo contextualizado culturalmente en las comunidades cab谷cares de Chirrip車. En este participaron personas nativas de las comunidades relacionadas con los procesos educativos ancestrales y formales. Se determin車 que el proceso de dise o curricular en la educaci車n inicial debe considerar las necesidades, intereses, expectativas y aspiraciones de las comunidades ind赤genas, pues han privado los procesos educativos orientados al cumplimiento de programas oficiales, dej芍ndose de lado el rescate y afirmaci車n de la cultura cab谷car.Abstract: This article comes as a result from the research ※Building educational processes culturally oriented from the starting point in the Cabecar indigenous schools from Chirrip車§ carried out in the Institute of Educational Research (INIE in Spanish) from de University of Costa Rica. The aim of this work was to provide input to the discussion that started in recent years in the university, regional and national field, in need to build opportunities for an educational development characterized for being culturally oriented in the cabecar communities from Chirripo. In this study native people from these communities participated and they are related with the ancestral and formal educational processes. It was determined that the curriculum design when the education is just starting should consider the needs, interests, expectations and visions from the indigenous communities, since it has deprived them from the best offer regarding educational processes oriented to fulfill the official programs, leaving aside the rescue effort and support for the cabecar culture.
