%X Meloxicam, is a newer member of oxicam family of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs having more selectivity towards cyclooxygenase-2 than cyclooxygenase-1. The meloxicam study was conducted in malebuffalo calves to determine plasma disposition and pharmacokinetics of meloxicam (0.5 mg.kg每1) after single dose intravenous, alone and in combination with enrofloxacin (2.5 mg.kg每1,im). After intravenous administration of meloxicam when given alone, the values of distribution and elimination half每lives, volume of distribution and total body clearance were 0.68 ㊣ 0.10 h, 40.48 ㊣ 1.94 h, 0.58 ㊣ 0.03L.kg每1 and 0.17 ㊣ 0.00 ml.min每1.kg每1,respectively. The values of distribution and elimination half每lives, volume of distribution and total body clearance were 0.71 ㊣ 0.07 h, 28.52 ㊣ 1.61 h, 0.48 ㊣ 0.02L.kg每1 and 0.19 ㊣ 0.01ml.min每1. kg每 1,respectively when meloxicam was given along with enrofloxacin.
