%X In the field of Educational Technology, the latest technological advancement is the use of Computer in Education. It is a development of systematic programmed learning and teaching machine. It is a self-instructional device with the principle of atomization. It is an effective media and an indispensable aid in the teaching-learning process. The instructional process carried out with the help of computer is known as Computer Assisted Instruction [CAI].In the present study the researcher made an attempt to explore the effectiveness of computer assisted instruction in teaching English at higher secondary level.
