%X The paper presents the results of a study research that aimed to analyze the participation and representation of women in politics in a Goi¨¢s period of nearly three decades. Thus, the study presents an updated picture of female representation in Goi¨¢s. The data analyzed in the survey have revealed that, in Goi¨¢s, women are still underrepresented in political and parliamentary arena. The research findings are very similar to the national and international scene. Therefore, the underrepresentation of women in parliament is not represented only a regional phenomenon, but worldwide.
