%X Les deux livres de Sartre sur l¡¯image posent un probl¨¨me d¡¯interpr¨¦tation rarement trait¨¦. Le premier, L¡¯Imagination, s¡¯ach¨¨ve sur un vibrant hommage ¨¤ la th¨¦orie husserlienne de l¡¯image. Le second, L¡¯Imaginaire, qui faisait initialement partie d¡¯un m¨ºme volume, propose une th¨¦orie in¨¦dite de l¡¯imagination qui ne cite pas une seule fois Husserl, et qui s¡¯en d¨¦marque fortement. Sartre a-t-il chang¨¦ de point de vue d¡¯un livre ¨¤ l'autre ? Ou faut-il comprendre que son hommage ¨¤ Husserl ¨¦tait d¡¯embl¨¦e un hommage critique, porteur de lourds d¨¦saccords explicit¨¦s par L¡¯Imaginaire ? Cet article r¨¦pond ¨¤ ces questions en cernant les lignes de fracture d¨¦cisives entre les deux auteurs. Sartre¡¯s two books about the image are difficult to interpret, even it is rarely noticed. Indeed the first book, L¡¯Imagination, ends with a glowing tribute to the Husserlian theory of image. The second one, L¡¯Imaginaire, initially combined with the firth in a single volume, offers a new theory of imagination without any reference to Husserl and which distances itself from the Husserlian theory. Did Sartre change his point of view between his two books? Or, should we interpret his first tribute to Husserl as a critical tribute, which leads to an explicit discrepancy in L¡¯Imaginaire? This paper answers these questions by analyzing the decisive divisions between Sartre and Husserl.
