Series: Marine Engineering and Technologies %D 2010 %I Astrakhan State Technical University %X The possibility to reduce nitrogen oxide concentration in exhaust gases of ship diesel engines applying binary fuel systems is investigated in the paper. Diesel oil is used as starting and shut-down, and emulsified diesel oil with various moisture content is used as operational. The high efficiency of the application of oil-to-water emulsion is shown. The best result is the concentration of NOx less 35¨C40 % than needed when common fuel is applied. %K diesel fuel %K oil-to-water emulsion %K ship diesel engine %K nitrogen oxide concentration. %U http://astu.org/content/userimages/file/sea_1_2010/25.pdf
