%X The methodology of analytical calculation of coupling resource "cylinder sleeve ¨C upper compression ring" is offered according to the expected values of its wear for ship small-sized diesel engines. The base of the calculation is sta-tistical material for tractor engines of close dimensionality and having similar physical and mechanical characteristics of components materials of the cylin-der-piston group.
