%0 Journal Article %T The influence of documentary videos on the scientific diffusion of knowledge about Aids / A influ¨ºncia de v¨ªdeos document¨¢rios na divulga o cient¨ªfica de conhecimento sobre a Aids %A Brigido Vizeu Camargo %A Andr¨¦a Barbar¨¢ %A Raquel Bohn Bertoldo %J Psicologia: Reflex£¿o e Cr¨ªtica %D 2008 %I Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul %X The study aimed to measure and to compare the impact on scientific knowledge of students visualizing different kinds of documentary videos about HIV/Aids ¨C one with a more scientific approach and another with a more popularized one. One hundred and forty one (141) high school students from the city of Florian¨®polis participated in the study. They were divided in 3 groups: control group (without visualization), group 1 (scientific video) and group 2 (popularized video). Before and after the showing the videos, the Scientific Knowledge Test about HIV/Aids was applied. The results showed an increment in the medium score of the mentioned test in group 1, no significant change in group 2 and a decrease in the control group.
