%X A cria  o de centros de atendimentos com caracter¨ªsticas humanistas enfatiza o controle da dor e dos sintomas, objetivando melhor qualidade de vida para os pacientes portadores de doen as cr nicas terminais e seus familiares. A importancia de se permitir morrer humanamente, sem incorrer em processos prolongados, resgata a dignidade deste em seu momento final, ajudando-o a enfrentar a morte. Todos da equipe m¨¦dica t¨ºm seu papel de importancia. Principalmente a psicologia por estudar o ser humano na sua forma mais ¨ªntima. ¨¦ imprescind¨ªvel a atua  o do psic¨®logo, colaborando para que este paciente, sua fam¨ªlia e a equipe m¨¦dica possam buscar um maior equil¨ªbrio de vida interior e um grau de adapta  o ¨¤ realidade. The creation of care centers with a humanistic feature and a focus on the control of pain and symptoms is intended to provide terminal patients and family members with a better quality of life. The importance of allowing for a more humane death with no prolonged processes is the opportunity for the patient to face death with more dignity. All the medical team has their role of importance in this process. Psychology has its part mainly because it concerns the human being at their innermost and the work of a psychologist is essential in helping the patient, the family and the medical team in the search of a better balance in their inner life and their acceptance of reality.
