%X RESUMEN Tras la destrucci¨®n extensiva de la segunda Guerra Mundial, la obra de los primeros a os de Alison y Peter Smithson se presenta como un ejercicio cr¨ªtico ante las propuestas urban¨ªsticas de los CIAM, con varias lecturas posibles. Recuperar un espacio p¨²blico que se pudiera vivir por momentos sin un uso espec¨ªfico. Renunciar al bloque habitacional como objeto ¨²nico, proponiendo desarrollos continuos del espacio calle. Renunciar a la idea de una ciudad terminada en s¨ª misma, proponiendo estructuras urbanas en un continuo estado de cambio. Asumir el paisaje bombardeado como patrimonio, superponiendo otras capas.SUMMARY After the extensive destruction of the Second World War, the work of the early years of Alison and Peter Smithson is presented as a critical exercise against the urban planning proposals of the CIAM, with several possible readings. To recover a public space that could live for moments without a specific use; renounce the housing block as the only object, proposing continuous development of the street space; renounce the idea of a complete city in itself, proposing urban structures in a continuous state of change and accept the bombed landscape as heritage, superimposing other strata.
