%X Evaluation of learning is a fundamental link in the teaching learning process. The aim of this work is to perform a critical analysis of the usage of an evaluation based mainly in the clinical examination objectively structured as a form of final evaluation in the subject Internal Medicine after 9 years of its insertion. The historical analysis showed that the application of this type of exam constituted a big step forward in the improvement of the evaluation system of the intern. Important deficiencies that limited the complete fulfillment of the evaluation functions as well as some element that interfere in the feasibility of its application were identified. La evaluaci車n del aprendizaje es un eslab車n fundamental del proceso docente-educativo. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo realizar un an芍lisis cr赤tico de la utilizaci車n de una evaluaci車n basada fundamentalmente en el examen cl赤nico objetivamente estructurado, como forma de evaluaci車n final de la estancia de Medicina Interna, despu谷s de nueve a os de su introducci車n. El an芍lisis hist車rico demostr車 que la aplicaci車n de este tipo de examen constituy車 un gran paso de avance en el mejoramiento del sistema evaluativo del internado, pero fueron identificadas importantes deficiencias que limitan el cumplimiento cabal de las funciones de la evaluaci車n, as赤 como algunos elementos que interfieren en la factibilidad de su aplicaci車n.
