%X Se presentan los resultados de un estudio descriptivo y transversal de los 55 reci¨¦n nacidos intervenidos quir¨²rgicamente por malformaciones digestivas, atendidos en el Servicio de Neonatolog¨ªa del Hospital Infantil Norte "Dr. Juan de la Cruz Mart¨ªnez Maceira" de Santiago de Cuba en el quinquenio 2003-2007. En la casu¨ªstica predominaron los neonatos con bajo peso al nacer, sobre todo varones (65,5 %), as¨ª como tambi¨¦n los afectados por estenosis hipertr¨®fica del p¨ªloro, atresia esof¨¢gica, malformaci¨®n anorrectal, atresia y estenosis intestinales, causantes de la muerte de la tercera parte de los pacientes, en asociaci¨®n con procesos s¨¦pticos. Results of a descriptive and cross-sectional study related to 55 new born operated due to digestive malformations at the Neonatology Service of Northern Pediatric Hospital "Dr Juan de la Cruz Mart¨ªnez" from Santiago de Cuba during 2003-2007 were presented. In the case material, low birth weight neonates, mostly males (65,5 %), as well as those affected by pylorus hypertrophic stenosis, esophageal atresia, anorectal malformation, intestinal atresia and stenosis, causing the death of the third part of patients in association with septic processes, were relevant.
