After failure of conservative management and percutaneous drainage, a splenectomy was performed. An incidental splenunculus was preserved. On follow up the splenunculus had increased to normal splenic size and there was no evidence of Howell-Jolly bodies, suggesting normal splenic function. %K Salmonella %K splenectomy %K splenic cyst %K splenunculus %U http://www.afrjpaedsurg.org/article.asp?issn=0189-6725;year=2011;volume=8;issue=1;spage=98;epage=100;aulast=Karia
