%X Se efectu¨® una intervenci¨®n educativa dirigida a los cuidadores familiares de 20 pacientes con enfermedades en fase terminal, pertenecientes al ¨¢rea de salud del Policl¨ªnico Universitario "Jos¨¦ Mart¨ª P¨¦rez" de Santiago de Cuba, desde julio hasta diciembre del 2009, con vista a modificar sus conocimientos sobre los cuidados paliativos que deb¨ªan brindar con calidad a las personas afectadas. Luego de aplicada la estrategia se logr¨® cambiar positivamente el nivel de instrucci¨®n de los cuidadores acerca del tema, as¨ª como su modo de obrar en relaci¨®n con los pacientes y sus familiares. An educational intervention directed to the family care givers of 20 terminally ill patients, belonging to the health area of "Jos¨¦ Mart¨ª P¨¦rez" University Polyclinic in Santiago de Cuba was carried out from July to December, 2009, with the objective of modifying their knowledge on the palliative cares that they should give with quality to affected people. After the strategy was applied it was possible to change positively the instruction level of the care givers on the topic, as well as their way of working in relation to the patients and their relatives.
