%X Este art赤culo explora -en el contexto del enfrentamiento entre liberales e Iglesia Cat車lica, por la secularizaci車n del estado en el siglo XIX- un elemento clave de todo conflicto: la subjetividad. Se rescatar芍 a trav谷s del diario "El Estandarte Cat車lico" la imagen que la Iglesia Cat車lica se construye acerca del liberalismo y se explicar芍n sus principios. El art赤culo se divide en dos partes: primero, un marco general sobre los fundamentos del tema, el estado de la cuesti車n y las relaciones del peri車dico con el gobierno de Pinto. Finalmente, se buscar芍 sintetizar el simbolismo conferido al liberalismo interpretando sus alcances. This article explores the notion of subjectivity the context of the securalization of the state in the nineteenth century and the clash between liberals and Catholic Church. Through the analysis of the newspaper "El Estandarte Cat車lico",we will study the image that the Catholic Church generates about liberalism, and its principles. The article is divided two section. In the first one articulares, a general framework on the foundations of the subject, the state of the art and the connections between "El Estandarte Cat車lico" and Pinto＊s government. Finally, we eventually seek to summarize and explain the symbolism conferred to liberalism.
