%X Desde sus inicios, las ideas penales y criminol車gicas desarrolladas en la Argentina estuvieron marcadas por la fuerte influencia del pensamiento europeo. En el per赤odo que nos ocupa (1880-1916), comenzaron a operarse una serie de importantes cambios en los discursos jur赤dicos y los juristas tucumanos no estuvieron al margen de esos cambios. Las 谷lites ilustradas de Tucum芍n, provincia en gran crecimiento a partir de la llegada del ferrocarril, reclamaban cada vez con m芍s insistencia la necesidad de una completa renovaci車n del sistema judicial. Para comprender el clima intelectual en el que los juristas tucumanos se formaron hacia el fin del siglo XIX y comienzos del siglo XX, en este art赤culo presentaremos un panorama de las ideas criminol車gicas del positivismo europeo, para luego abordar su repercusi車n en la Argentina y finalmente examinar c車mo fue la recepci車n y aplicaci車n de esas ideas en el 芍mbito jur赤dico tucumano. Intentaremos no limitarnos solamente al an芍lisis de los discursos, sino que abordaremos tambi谷n algunos aspectos de su puesta en pr芍ctica. Since its origins, the penal and criminological ideas developed in Argentina were marked by the strong influence of European thought. In the period under review (1880-1916), began to be operated a number of important changes in the juridical discourses and the lawyers of Tucuman were not outside those changes. The intellectual elites of Tucuman, province in great growth since the arrival of the railroad, began to claim more and more insistently the need for a complete renovation of the judicial system. To understand the intellectual climate in which Tucuman's lawyers were formed towards the end of the nineteenth and early twentieth century, this article will present an overview of criminological ideas of European positivism. Then, address the impact of those ideas in Argentina and finally examine how was the reception and implementation of these ideas in the Tucuman's legal field. We will not limit ourselves only to the analysis of discourse, but will also address some aspects of its implementation.
