%X El art赤culo es una revisi車n de las teor赤as relativas al origen y funci車n primitiva de la mancipatio, merced al estudio de su funci車n econ車mica y comparaci車n con la organizaci車n pol赤tica pre-estatal del per赤odo arcaico. Concluye que la mancipatio era una ceremonia predispuesta a dar certeza a las transacciones sobre los bienes de las gentes, especialmente los de producci車n que aqu谷llas habr赤an mantenido en com迆n. This article examines the theories on the origin and primitive function of mancipatio, by virtue of the study of its economical function and by comparing it to the prestate political organization of the achaic period. We conclude that mancipatio was a ceremony predisposed to make certain the transactions over the peoples' goods, especially the industrial goods that they had had in common.
