We conducted a cross-sectional study with descriptive and administrative servers and general services headcount from the State University of Southwest Bahia (UESB) Jequi¨¦ campus, in the period from March to December 2009. After meeting the criteria were included 81 patients,representing 79.4% of the population. We used a standardized questionnaire containing the International Physical Activity Questionnaire, short version (IPAQ-C),and sociodemographic and occupational issues. In the data analysis procedures were used descriptive statistics and measures of association for categorical variables by using the chi-square and Fisher exact Pearson, adopting a significance level of 5% (p 0.05). Among respondents, 50.6% of the subjects are physically active most active Subjects were men and those who have no partner (p <0.005). The prevalence of physical inactivity was higher among respondents and had a higher frequency among individuals with characteristics specific demographic.
