%X La composici車n de la Corte constitucional italiana se distingue por la atribuci車n del poder de nominaci車n a tres 車rganos diversos (m芍ximas magistraturas, Parlamento en sesi車n com迆n de las dos C芍maras y Presidente de la Rep迆blica), que designan cinco jueces cada uno. El conjunto de las reglas establecidas para tal composici車n, sin perjuicio de no estar exento de aspectos problem芍ticos, ha dado resultados sustancialmente positivos, permitiendo a la Corte asumir una posici車n bastante equilibrada al interior del sistema institucional. Las eventuales propuestas de reforma, que quieren involucrar a las autonom赤as territoriales en la nominaci車n de los jueces constitucionales, dado el mayor perfil que han asumido 谷stas con la reforma constitucional del 2001, deben ser valoradas con extrema prudencia. En particular, es necesario evitar la utilizaci車n de criterios representativos y no comprometer el equilibrio que hasta ahora ha caracterizado el obrar de la Corte italiana. Members of the Italian Constitutional Court are appointed by three different bodies (higher courts, the two chambers of Congress acting together and the President of the Republic), each one nominating five judges. Rules set for such appointments, although not problems-free, have produced on the whole positive results, allowing the Court to maintain a balanced role within the institutional system. Reform proposals, aimed at incorporating autonomous territories in the nomination of constitutional judges, due to the increased importance that these territories have acquired after the constitutional amendment passed in 2001, should be assessed cautiously. Specifically, it is necessary to avoid using criteria of representation, which might affect the balance that, so far, has been the trademark of the Italian Court.
