%X Se realiza una revisi¨®n bibliogr¨¢fica con el objetivo de profundizar y divulgar sobre las lectinas, las que son un grupo heterog¨¦neo de prote¨ªnas o glicoprote¨ªnas agrupadas por su habilidad de reconocer y unirse a carbohidratos o glicoconjugados con una alta especificidad. Estas pueden ser de gran inter¨¦s para aquellos que se mueven profesionalmente en el campo de las ciencias biom¨¦dicas, ser¨ªa de utilidad conocer y profundizar en el estudio de biomol¨¦culas como las lectinas, las que prometen convertirse en herramientas muy ¨²tiles para los mismos. A literature review aimed at deepening and disseminates knowledge about the lectins was carried out. Lectins are a heterogeneous group of proteins or glycoproteins that are grouped by their capability of recognizing and binding to carbohydrates or glycoconjugates having a high specificity. Lectins can be of interest to professionals involved in biomedical sciences and it could be very useful to learn and deepen into the study of biomolecules such as lectins, which promise to become in useful tools to conduct researches in biomedical sciences.
