%X A pesar de los altos niveles de popularidad presidencial de Michelle Bachelet y la elevada aprobaci車n del desempe o de su gobierno, durante el a o 2009 (y el comienzo del 2010) la Concertaci車n sufri車 una derrota electoral hist車rica, que llev車 a la alternancia en el poder, despu谷s de 20 a os de gobiernos concertacionistas. Este art赤culo analiza los acontecimientos sociales, econ車micos y pol赤ticos que signaron el calendario electoral que concluy車 con el triunfo de la Coalici車n por el Cambio, encabezada por Sebasti芍n Pinera. In spite of Michelle Bachelet's high levels of presidential popularity, and similarly high levels of popular approval for the performance of her government, in late 2009 and early 2010 the Concertaci車n coalition to which she belongs suffered a historic defeat. The result was an alteration in power, reversing 20 years of consecutive Concertaci車n governments. This article analyses the headline social, economic and political events of the electoral campaign that finally produced victory for Sebastian Pi era's Coalici車n por el Cambio (Coalition for Change).
