%X El presente trabajo analiza la evoluci車n en la normativa provincial respecto al funcionamiento de las Cortes Supremas provinciales de Argentina (como por ejemplo la duraci車n del mandato, el tama o de las cortes, las garant赤as constitucionales de los jueces y los mecanismos de designaci車n y remoci車n). El principal objetivo es determinar de qu谷 forma el dise o institucional condiciona la relaci車n entre los poderes del Estado. El estudio se basa en un relevamiento exhaustivo de todas las constituciones provinciales vigentes desde 1983 hasta 2009, as赤 como tambi谷n de la normativa provincial de esos a os. Los principales resultados de la investigaci車n revelan que los cambios en el dise o institucional relacionados con el funcionamiento de las Cortes Supremas generalmente han incrementado el grado de vulnerabilidad del accionar de dichas instituciones frente a los otros poderes del Estado. This research presents the historical analysis of the rules and norms that regulate the functioning of the argentine provincial Supreme Courts (such as the tenure system, size of the courts, justice's constitutional rights, and the appointment and removal system). The objective of this research is to analyze to what extent the institutional design can condition the relationship of the Judiciary branch with the other branches of government. For this purpose it was created a genuine dataset that gathers all the provincial constitutions and rules that were in force between 1983 and 2009. The main finding of this research is that the changes in the intuitional settings have often increased the degree of vulnerability of the Cortes vis-角-vis the other branches of government.
