%X El resultado de las elecciones parlamentarias de 2009 abri車 un panorama complejo y dif赤cil para la presidenta Cristina Fern芍ndez de Kirchner. Al obtener un tercio de los votos emitidos, perdi車 el control de la C芍mara de Diputados por decisi車n de los electores y, m芍s tarde, el del Senado por divisiones en su propia coalici車n. La crispaci車n social generada por el gobierno contribuy車 a aglutinar a la oposici車n, previamente fragmentada, en dos alianzas electorales cuyo arraigo territorial complementario les permiti車 vencer al oficialismo en los principales distritos. La econom赤a se resinti車 por la crisis global y por los desmanejos locales; aunque el colapso se evit車, la fragilidad fiscal persiste por la dificultad del gobierno para obtener financiamiento. Con minor赤a en el Congreso, una sociedad polarizada y la econom赤a en la cuerda floja, la presidenta enfrenta sus 迆ltimos dos a os sin vocaci車n para la negociaci車n pol赤tica y sin perspectivas cre赤bles de reelecci車n. The 2009 mid-term elections produced a complex scenario for President Cristina Fern芍ndez de Kirchner. By winning just one third of the vote, she lost the majority in the House and the Senate -in the latter case due to divisions in the ruling coalition rather than because of the electoral results. Social distress nurtured by government behavior contributed to galvanizing a previously fragmented opposition. Henee, two electoral coalitions with non-rival territorial strongholds managed to defeat the incumbent party in the main districts. The economy resented both the global crisis and domestic mismanagement; although a meltdown was avoided, fiscal frailty persists due to a lack of alternative credit sources. Confronted with divided government, high social polarization and a stumbling economy, the President faces her next two years without visible inclination towards political accommodation or credible prospects of reelection.
