%X El Movimiento de Acci¨®n Popular Unitario, MAPU (1969), rompi¨® con la Democracia Cristiana (DC) para sumarse al socialismo, luego se renov¨® contribuyendo a la alianza DC con socialistas en la pragm¨¢tica Concertaci¨®n. El MAPU demuestra el aporte "transformador/innovador" de ¨¦lites iluministas, que pasan de la ruptura a jugar un rol fundador de nuevas coaliciones. El debate tradicional en ciencia pol¨ªtica de ¨¦lites funcionales o disruptivas puede ser enriquecido con la idea de ¨¦lite transformadora que mueve o estabiliza el sistema en diferentes etapas en su af¨¢n modernizador. Para algunos expresa un modelo c¨ªnico de acomodo, para otros un caso de flexibilidad e innovaci¨®n. En este art¨ªculo se valora la transformaci¨®n como s¨ªntesis. The Popular Unitary Action Movement, MAPU (1969-1989), splitfrom the DC to join the socialism and after a renewal helped the union of DC with the Socialists in the pragmatic "Concertaci¨®n". The MAPU demonstrates the "transformative/innovative" contribution of enlightened ¨¦lites, who moves from rupture to play a role in founding of new coalitions. The traditional debate in political science of disruptive or functional ¨¦lites can be enriched with the concept of transformative ¨¦lite that shakes and then stabilizes the system in the modernization process. To someone's might express a cynical pattern of accommodation, for others a case offlexibility. This article seeks to highlight the transformative role as a synthetic concept.
