%X 2009 ha sido un a o globalmente positivo para la econom赤a, la sociedad y la pol赤tica haitiana. La mayor赤a de los indicadores tuvieron un buen comportamiento. El presente art赤culo hace un an芍lisis somero de la coyuntura vivida en 2009. La conclusi車n a la que llega es que dentro del contexto del marasmo econ車mico y pol赤tico que caracteriz車 el per赤odo evaluado, aun as赤, se han observado algunos avances y consolidaci車n institucional del juego pol赤tico en esta naci車n caribe a. Dos hechos se eros ilustran esta tendencia: la destituci車n de la Primera Ministra Michele Pierre-Louis y el nombramiento de su reemplazo, el actual Primer Ministro Jean Max Bellerive. Se sostiene que la rapidez con que se efectu車 este reemplazo muestra una tendencia distinta e importante de dar seguimiento en la evoluci車n de la pol赤tica en Hait赤. El segundo hecho pol赤tico a destacar es la aprobaci車n de las reformas a la Constituci車n de 1987, votada en el Parlamento en septiembre de 2009. Este acontecimiento es significativo tanto por el hecho mismo de su aprobaci車n como por los contenidos de la reforma. 2009 has been in general terms a positive year for the economy, the society and the Haitian polity. Most of the indicators have been good. This article assesses briefly the conjuncture throughout 2009. It reaches the conclusion that, despite the critical economic and political context that characterizes this period, some advances can be observed in terms of a consolidation in the political field in this Caribbean Nation. Two facts may well illustrate this view: first, the destitution of the Prime Minister Michele Viene Louis, and her quick substitution by a new Prime Minister, Jean Max Bellerive. I argue that the promptness with which the authorities acted marks a new reality worth to be analyzed in the Haitian context. The second fact that retains our attention is the new constitutional reforms approved by the parliament, in September 2009. This event is highly significant, because of both the decision by itself, and because of the contents of the new text.
