%X A partir de la descripci車n de las principales caracter赤sticas sociodemogr芍ficas de los matrimonios con al menos un c車nyuge extranjero durante el periodo 2000-2008, extra赤dos de los ficheros de datos del Movimiento Natural de Poblaci車n de Espa a se distinguen seis tipolog赤as de uniones seg迆n la nacionalidad y g谷nero de las parejas que las constituyen. Dichas tipolog赤as corresponden a nuevas formas familiares presentes ya en la compleja y din芍mica realidad social, en permanente transformaci車n, que implican retos para cualquier profesional de la intervenci車n. El rol del Trabajo Social como disciplina y pr芍ctica debe afrontar dicha diversidad desde una perspectiva integradora que puede conllevar dos planos; el primero referido a la resoluci車n de posibles necesidades, problem芍ticas y dificultades surgidas al interior y al exterior de las familias considerando sus particularidades y que pueden involucrar elementos jur赤dicos, econ車micos y psicosociales. Un segundo plano relacionado con la necesidad de formaci車n, actualizaci車n y afianzamiento tanto de conocimientos como habilidades y destrezas para la gesti車n de la convivencia, que no exenta de conflictos, est芍n acompa adas por comportamientos y actitudes resistentes a la diversidad cultural y sexual debido a que representan rupturas de modelos tradicionales y dominantes para dar paso a la consolidaci車n de sociedades plurales. According to the data from the Natural Movement of Spanish Population, and taking into consideration the main socio-demographic characteristics of the marriages with, at least, one foreign spouse during the period of 2000-2008, six different types of unions can be observed, taking in consideration the nationality and gender of the couples. These types of unions respond to the new family concept that is already established in our complex and dynamic society, and that challenges all professionals. The role of Social Work as a scientific discipline and practical profession must face the diversity from the point of view of integration. It should have two different characteristics. The first one is the ability to give answers to future necessities, problems and difficulties. Those answers could bring economic, legal, and psychosocial resources. The second one is related to the need for professional training, updating and reinforcement of both the knowledge and the skills necessary to manage family life, because to live in a diverse society means conflict, attitudes and behaviors that are against cultural and sexual diversity due to the rupture with the traditional and dominant models that cons
