%X Los procesos de democratizaci¨®n en Latinoam¨¦rica y la "persistencia" de los reg¨ªmenes resultantes, dieron lugar a un generalizado optimismo. Pero con el tiempo comenz¨® a observarse que estos reg¨ªmenes, que parecen pertenecer al g¨¦nero democr¨¢tico, no son lo que parecen. El presente trabajo, con el objetivo de contribuir a esclarecer qu¨¦ dej¨® la transici¨®n en Am¨¦rica Latina, tiene como prop¨®sito indagar y profundizar sobre la problem¨¢tica en cuesti¨®n y contribuir en la b¨²squeda de una respuesta a la pregunta:  qu¨¦ son aquellos reg¨ªmenes latinoamericanos que no son lo que parecen? Con ese objetivo se elabora una tipolog¨ªa alternativa. Democratization processes in Latin America, and the "persistence" of the resulting regimes, led to a generalized optimism. But later those regimes, that seemed to belong to the democratic genre, showed they were not democratic. With the aim of contribute to clarify the legacy of transition in America Latina, the article seeks to delve on this topic and give an answer to the question:  what are those Latin American regimes that are not what they seem? Thus, it presents an alternative typology.
