Professional secrecy is historically related to the Hippocratic Oath. Social Work is a significant power factor that is influenced by the tensions inherent to the field. Is expresses the human right to privacy, nationally and internationally set in Argentina. It is also linked with international ethical instruments, given by the International Federation of Social Workers. The presence od professional secrecy in ethical codes and laws of professional practice is massive in Argentina, but the devices provided for its implementation are obviously weak. This would have a certain impact on everyday practices, which is shown by specific indicators of such fragility. The analysis of Argentinian normative highlights some peculiarities of such weakness. A certain balance is perceived that does not promote daily conflicts over this issue, even when there is a general legal context strictly related to professional secrecy as an expression of the right to privacy. %U http://www.uhu.es/publicaciones/revistas/portularia/index.php?CDer=1&NR=2&volumen=10&top=12&NArticulo=1080
