The distribution coefficients (Kd) of twelve metal ions in nitric acid and hydrochloric acid systems have been studied. On the basis of Kd values, some analytically important binary separations Al3+ from Fe3+, Zn2+ from Fe3+, Cu2+ from Fe3+, and Ni2+ from Fe3+ have been achieved.
