Turkish has become that language of our official language of education and science following Turkish Language Reform in the early Turkish Republic Period. From then, the education of Turkish has been of prime importance too. Although the education of Turkish is provided via all courses in Turkish education system, primary burden and charge pertains to Turkish language courses. It is under the responsibility of primary school teachers in the initial step of primary education to provide an efficient and functional education of Turkish. Thus, it is of vital significance for primary school teachers to be proficient and competent. This study objects to introduce the views of primary school teacher candidates as to Turkish education courses and their own level of proficiency to teach Turkish. 103 prospective teachers participated in the study which was conducted with a qualitative method. The data was collected by the help of a questionnaire including openended 9 questions in total. The data of the study was analyzed with a descriptive method.
