%X A review is presented on metabolic changes that occur in children under stress, and on the organs that are affected by the response to it; also considered are the different resources that are presently available in order to maintain nutrition in these children and to improve their probabilities of recovery. Se hace una revisi車n acerca de los cambios metab車licos que ocurren en el ni o durante el estr谷s y los 車rganos que se afectan en su respuesta; se tienen en cuenta adem芍s, los diferentes recursos que actualmente se pueden utilizar con el fin de mantener la nutrici車n del ni o durante este tipo de situaci車n, mejorando sus posibilidades de recuperaci車n.
