%X This article defines the concept of network when applied to historical research, underlining the importance of social network analysis for historical studies. The article starts with a state of the art regarding the conceptualization, definition and application of the concept ¡®networks¡¯ to different disciplines, moving then towards the effects of this type of analysis among historians dedicated to themes of Economic and Social History in general.
