%X This article analyzes the relations between the Catholic Church and the formation of the Brazilian elites during the twentieth century. Specifically, this study aimed to analyze the militant Catholic elites forged through the instruments of the Jesuit Order. It is argued in this research, based on varied sources, that where the Jesuit instruments for Catholic restoration were hegemonic, as in southern Brazil, the Catholic restoration was successful, since it ensured the maintenance and reproduction of conservative Catholic thought.Este trabalho analisa as rela  es entre a Igreja Cat車lica e a forma  o das elites brasileiras no s谷culo XX. De modo espec赤fico, este trabalho dedicou-se a analisar as elites cat車licas militantes forjadas atrav谷s dos instrumentos da Ordem dos Jesu赤tas. Argumenta-se, nesta pesquisa, atrav谷s de fontes variadas, que nos contextos em que os instrumentos de restaura  o cat車lica dos jesu赤tas foram hegem nicos, como no sul do Brasil, a restaura  o cat車lica foi exitosa uma vez que garantiu a manuten  o e a reprodu  o do pensamento cat車lico conservador.
