%X A hist車ria da filosofia, segundo Hegel, n o 谷 um amontoado de opini es, mas o esfor o que o homem tem feito ao longo dos tempos de apreender e de compreender sua pr車pria exist那ncia. O objetivo do presente texto 谷 o de construir parte dessa compreens o na hist車ria da filosofia em quatro pensadores: Montesquieu, Rousseau, Kant e Hegel. Para tanto, escolheu-se a lei como o elemento aglutinador entre os fil車sofos citados. Hegel 谷 a refer那ncia pela qual cada um deles 谷 considerado e por meio da an芍lise hegeliana do conceito de lei que as demais abordagens filos車ficas s o tratadas. A lei representa, segundo Hegel, a determina  o hist車rica necess芍ria para que a liberdade se efetive. Ao analisar as posi  es de Montesquieu, de Rousseau e de Kant, Hegel recupera o que cada um realizou,assinalando seus avan os e limites. A avalia  o final de Hegel 谷 a de que seus predecessores confirmam a lei como caracter赤stica central da vida na sociedade moderna livre. The history of philosophy, according to Hegel, is not a collection of opinions but the effort that humankind makes to understand their own existence. The aim of this paper is to understand the history of philosophy according to four thinkers: Montesquieu, Rousseau, Kant and Hegel. Law was chosen as a common point among these philosophers. Hegel was taken as the landmark to analize the others, whose approaches of the concept of law are taken as parameters. For Hegel, the law represents a necessary historical determination that enhances freedom. Hegel recovers Montesquieu＊s, Rousseau＊s and Kant＊s conception of law, signaling their individual contribution and their limitations. Hegel's conclusion is that his predecessors confirm that law is the central feature of life in a modern, free society.
